stand allocated to John Marland at the Manchester Cotton
Exchange on Tuesday of each week. This was the day that the mill
owners would all go to Manchester to meet and hopefully gain
orders for cloth to keep the mills running I can just remember
the chauffeur-driven cars taking them to the Railway Station.
